Oct 3-7, 2022 is being celebrated as National Technology Student Association (TSA) Week by high schools and middle schools across the country, and the Carthage High School TSA Chapter is marking the occasion by raising awareness about the organization. Students will also kick off the popular, annual meat sales fundraiser.
Carthage High School launched its TSA chapter in 1963 under the direction of George Smith. Since that time, Carthage High School has been home to various Texas TSA State Officers, National and Texas TSA Board members, and Texas TSA Staff members. CHS has brought home several state championships, as well as earning honors at the national level.
Current chapter officers are: President Olivia Blissett, Vice President Kallen Kecman, Secretary Kayson Privett, Reporter Elizabeth Pinkston, Sergeant at Arms Lucius Escobedo, Treasurer Cody Pyle and Historian Nayeli Servin. The advisors are Julie Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Victoria Rutledge and Shelby Walters. Recent chapter and member accomplishments include being awarded the Texas TSA Chapter Excellence Award for the 2021-22 school year and qualifying fourteen students for the 2022 National TSA Conference.
Follow the celebration on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. National TSA, headquartered in Reston, VA, is marking its 44th anniversary in 2022. The association represents more than 250,000 high school and middle school students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across the country.
