Carthage High School hosted an event today called "Sundaes on Sunday" to promote the UIL Academic teams available to students. Coaches were able to share information with those interested about various events and students were enlightened about competitive opportunities.
"Carthage High School is lucky to have such amazing teachers, who also work hard to coach UIL events," shared Mrs. Funderburk. "We compete each year in every event offered through the UIL contests, from UIL One Act Play to Computer Science and everything in between. Our students are always ultra competitive and represent Carthage very well."
Students at CHS will begin going to practice meets this fall and will continue through the spring semester. These meets provide opportunities for students to improve their skills and learn more about each of the events.
Mrs. Funderburk is beginning her twelfth year as the UIL Academic Coordinator at CHS.
"Out of the last eleven years, we've been the District Champions nine times," Mrs. Funderburk commented. "We want to continue that legacy of excellence as we look ahead to this school year."
