Carthage High School Senior, Makhai Lewis, was awarded the Longview Orthopedic Clinic's "Student Athlete of the Week" award at yesterday's pep rally.
"Each week, the recipient of this award is chosen based on their character, work ethic, and classroom diligence," Mrs. Marion announced to the crowd. "Makhai is a well-rounded athlete who is a cheerleader and plays volleyball for the Lady Dawgs. Makhai is a wonderful young lady who most often walks around with a smile on her face. Makhai strives for perfection in all that she does, on and off the court. Her dedication to her team, family and friends is what we admire most about her."
