Howdy Bulldog Family,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Carthage High School! We're thrilled to kick off the academic year and embark on a fantastic journey with our students and their families. As we begin our school year and complete our first day of school, we want to highlight some key aspects of our school's foundation and the exciting updates we have in store.
Quality Instruction
At Carthage High School, our commitment to providing top-notch education is unwavering. Our dedicated team of educators is geared up to deliver quality instruction that equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. From engaging lesson plans to innovative teaching methods, we're excited to see our students thrive in their academic pursuits.
Safe, Secure, Consistent, and Positive Environment
Creating a safe, secure, consistent, and positive environment for our students is of paramount importance. Our school prides itself on fostering an atmosphere where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. With vigilant safety measures in place, we're dedicated to ensuring that our students can learn and grow in a secure setting.
Promotion of Postsecondary Success through Stakeholder Involvement
We believe that success doesn't stop at high school graduation. Our goal is to prepare our students for the road ahead, and that's why we're actively engaging stakeholders to promote postsecondary success. Collaborating with parents, the community, and local partners, we're excited to help our students explore various pathways toward their future goals.
FFA Lonestar Degree Recipients
A big congratulations to our FFA Lonestar Degree recipients! Your dedication to agricultural education and leadership has truly paid off. Your accomplishments inspire us all and showcase the remarkable talent within our school community.
New EMT Program Partnership with Panola
We're thrilled to announce our new partnership with Panola for the EMT program. This exciting collaboration will open up new doors for our students, allowing them to gain valuable skills and knowledge in the field of emergency medical services. This program exemplifies our commitment to offering diverse opportunities for our students' growth and development.
Cell Phone Use During Instructional Time
In an ongoing effort to enhance the learning environment we have introduced a positive change by implementing a no cell phone policy during instructional time. This adjustment is aimed at maximizing student engagement and focus in the classroom. Students will still be able to use their cell phones during passing periods and during lunch. If you have an urgent need to reach your student during instructional time, please contact our office and we will get the message to your student quickly.
Dress Code and Expectations
To maintain a consistent and respectful learning environment, we've made adjustments to our dress code expectations. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. We'll thoroughly review these expectations during our beginning- of-the-year class meetings, ensuring everyone is on the same page. A copy of our dress code is available for you to review on our website.
Teacher Information Sheets
Be on the lookout for teacher information sheets. Each teacher will provide students with these during the first week of class. These sheets provide valuable insights into the routines, procedures, and expectations in each classroom. If there are supplies students need for this particular course these items will be listed on this document. We are appreciative of Carthage ISD and our district leadership providing essential supplies such as pens, pencils, notebook paper and other essential items, however, students may need additional supplies that apply to specialized areas that will supplement their learning.
Clear communication is key to a successful school year, and we're excited to kick things off on the right foot.
We can't wait to welcome all of our students back on the first day of school. Here's to an incredible year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences. Go Dawgs!
Warm regards,
Justin Smith
